Dubai Marina has some of the highest concentrations of aesthetic clinics in the UAE, and some of the highest price variance. A session ranges from AED 320 to AED 650 for underarms within the same postcode. Here's what explains that gap and which clinics are actually worth the premium.
Dubai Marina's commercial rent is among the highest in the UAE. Clinics in Pier 7, Marina Mall, and The Walk at JBR absorb significant overhead that is reflected in session pricing. This is not purely cost inflation — Marina attracts a patient base that demands premium devices, experienced therapists, and flexible appointment hours (many Marina clinics open until 10pm to accommodate working expats).
The machines in Marina's top-tier clinics are consistently the best in the Dubai market: Soprano Ice Platinum and GentleMax Pro dominate, with several clinics also offering the Splendor X. The therapist experience level is generally higher than in budget clinics further from the main tourist and residential corridors, partly because Marina clinics compete on reputation in a area where word-of-mouth among expat communities is fast and unforgiving.
The justified premium: if you have darker skin (Fitzpatrick IV–VI), the Nd:YAG mode on a GentleMax Pro or the triple-wavelength Soprano Ice Platinum is meaningfully better for you than a single-mode diode. You are paying partly for the right machine. All Marina-tier clinics include a pre-treatment consultation at no charge. Some mid-tier Dubai clinics charge AED 100–200 for consultations — this cost should not appear on a Marina premium clinic's pricing.
Standard at reputable Marina clinics. Ask specifically: "Is the patch test done at a separate appointment or at the start of my first session?" A separate 24–48 hour prior patch test is the proper protocol.
At Marina's premium clinics, you can request the same therapist for every session — important for consistent calibration, especially on darker skin types. Confirm this is possible before signing a package.

Avoid booking your first session before a holiday, beach trip, or event — slight redness for 24–48 hours after the first session is normal and will be visible on exposed skin.
